The benefit of lowering your screen resolution as far as battery life is concerned is a debated subject. On one hand, you still have to illuminate the entire display. On the other hand, your phone will no longer have to run applications at a higher resolution.
Be aware that after upgrading your S7 or S7 edge to Android Nougat that there is a chance that your device’s screen resolution might have automatically been set to FHD. The instructions below will walk you through either setting it WQHD, FHD, or even good ol’ HD.
