Pre-Order Hogwarts Legacy

Hogwarts Legacy is an open-world action role-playing game developed by Avalanche Software and published by Warner Bros. Games under the Portkey Games label. It is set in the Wizarding World universe created by JK Rowling, approximately 100 years before the events of the Harry Potter books took place.

Hogwarts Legacy will be released for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The release date of Hogwarts Legacy differs for each platform as follows.

You have the option to pre-order Hogwarts Legacy for all platforms. Pre-ordering means that you decide to purchase Hogwarts Legacy before release. You will still receive the game just in time for launch or early access, but you will receive a pre-order bonus.

If you pre-order Hogwarts Legacy, you will receive various in-game items as pre-order bonuses from selected retailers. Pre-ordering the Deluxe or Collector’s Edition comes with 72 hours Early Access to the game.

72 Hours Early Access

If you pre-order the Deluxe Edition or Collector’s Edition of Hogwarts Legacy for PC, PS5, or Xbox Series X|S you will get 3 days Early Access to the game. For pre-orders, the release of Hogwarts Legacy is already on February 7th, 2023, while the official launch will not take place until February 10th, 2023.

Onyx Hippogriff Mount

The Onyx Hippogriff mount is a pre-order bonus in Hogwarts Legacy available for all platforms. The Onyx Hippogriff is a darker version of the Hippogriff mount with shades of purple and black.

A hippogriff is a hybrid of a horse and an eagle that can fly. Its hind legs, tail, and body are those of a horse while its head is that of an eagle. The front legs end in large claws. In addition, the hippogriff has gigantic wings.

Felix Felicis Potion Recipe (PS4/PS5 exclusive)

The Felix Felicis Potion Recipe is an exclusive pre-order bonus for PS5 and PS4. Thanks to the recipe, you can brew the luck potion “Felix Felicis”. According to the PS Store, you can use Felix Felicis in Hogwarts Legacy to reveal gear chests on the mini-map for one in-game day. 

It is not known whether the recipe for Felix Felicis will also be able to be earned. In addition to Felix Felicis, there are numerous other potions in Hogwarts Legacy. Many of these increase your abilities in battle. In order to be able to brew potions, you need the corresponding potion recipe and the required ingredients.

Hogwarts Legacy Editions Comparison

There are three different editions of Hogwarts Legacy available: Standard Edition, Deluxe Edition, and Collector’s Edition. In the table below you can see the differences between the three editions.

Standard Edition Contents

The Standard Edition of Hogwarts Legacy for PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch includes the base game with no additional content. The PS4 and PS5 Standard Edition includes the PS-exclusive “Haunted Hogsmeade Shop” quest.

If you pre-order the Standard Edition, you can claim the Onyx Hippogriff mount as a pre-order bonus on all platforms. On PS4 and PS5, you will also receive the Felix Felicis potion recipe when you pre-order.

(Digital) Deluxe Edition Contents

The Hogwarts Legacy Deluxe Edition includes the following contents:

  The Thestral mount is only available through the Dark Arts Pack. The Thestral mount cannot be earned through any other means.
• Dark Arts Battle Arena
  In the Dark Arts Battle Arena, you can test the Unforgivable Curses Avada Kedavra, Imperio, and Crucio as well as the Blasting Curse Confringo.
• Dark Arts Cosmetic Set
  The Dark Arts Cosmetic Set consists of a cloak, a mask, and a hat.

Collector’s Edition Contents

The screenshot below shows what the Kelpie Robe from the Collector’s Edition looks like from the front and back. The Kelpie Robe is purely cosmetic and does not affect other Hogwarts Legacy gameplay mechanics. For example, it does not give you any advantages in combat.

The MSRP for the Standard Edition of Hogwarts Legacy is $59.99 | 59.99 € for PC and Nintendo Switch, $59.99 | 69.99 € for PS4 and Xbox One, and $69.99 | 74.99 € for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

The Deluxe Edition of Hogwarts Legacy is $10 | 10 € more expensive than the Standard Edition on all platforms. The Collector’s Edition of Hogwarts Legacy, which is currently sold out everywhere, costs $299.99 | 299.99 €.

PlayStation Exclusive „Haunted Hogsmeade Shop“ Quest

Owners of the PS5 or PS4 version of Hogwarts Legacy will automatically get access to the PS-exclusive “Haunted Hogsmeade Shop” quest.

As part of the quest, you have the opportunity to buy a shop in Hogsmeade from Cassandra Mason. But it seems that there are dark secrets beneath Madam Mason’s shop…

If you manage to complete the quest, you will be rewarded with your own shop in Hogsmeade, where you can sell items and equipment at better prices than anywhere else. Matching your new task, there is also the “Shopkeeper” cosmetic set.
