Though Landry Shamet's parents were never together, he discovered who his father was when he was in high school. Melanie found him through Facebook and asked Landry if he wanted to reach out and get to know him.

When Landry first saw his face, he felt emotions he couldn't describe and decided not to meet him, noting he never longed for a father. It wasn't until 2021 that he met his father, Ron Davis, and his half-siblings.

Landry said that finding out more about his father and half-siblings was his coolest situation, and it gave him a purpose. He has since established a great relationship with his sisters and occasionally shares photos of them having fun moments together.
