The county Department of Liquor Control will offer its certification exam and class online in early December for employees who are required to obtain a card to work at liquor establishments.
Participants in the online training and exam must be at least 21 years old and have an unexpired, unaltered and undamaged government-issued photo ID. They are required to register via email at liquor.cert.exam@mauicounty.gov.
Those without internet access can request in-person training and an exam by calling the department at (808) 243-7753.
The department’s “employee approved by the director card” is valid for four years from the date of issuance. Cards are renewed by reexamination.
Employee cards that contain an expiration from March 1, 2020 through the end of the emergency period are extended to 90 days after the end of the COVID-19 emergency period, the county said.
